Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Youth Ministry Mission Statement and Creed

The Catholic Student Center (CSC) at Our Lady of Good Counsel is a house of Catholic formation and community of hospitality to students of all faiths. The Catholic Student Center strives– through education, service and a worshipping community that seeks to know and become Christ– to inform student intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually according to the wisdom of the Catholic Church. So that they become active participants in parish life and moral and spiritual leaders in Church and society for the 21st century.

Spiritual :
The focal point of our ministry is the spiritual nourishment of MHHS community. The presence of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament is “the source and summit of the Christian life” and as such we could offer Mass during the week and Eucharistic Adoration. Additionally, we recognize the importance of putting our faith into action and sharing it with other which we could do through student-led groups and community ministries.

To love God we must get to know Him. We desire that each and every member of the MHHS community come to know God in a deep and personal way. To this end, we offer many opportunities to grow in our knowledge of the Catholic Church’s teachings, Scripture, and Apologetics. We could start programs like: monthly speaker series, weekly Bible studies and seasonal retreats which are just a few of the many opportunities students have to learn about the richness of the Catholic Faith.

Social: We recognize that we are created to be in community with one another, and we strive to cultivate a vibrant and welcoming culture here at the CSC. Through possible social gatherings, we build fellowship with each other and actively create the Kingdom of God here on earth. A few ideas like, weekly lunches to movie nights to service projects and some fun activity could bring us closer together and closer to Christ.
